School History

Pamlico County Primary School opened its doors in August, 1998. Our first principal was Mrs. Elizabeth White. We had a time capsule buried from our first year and it was opened in the spring of 2022. For 21 years, PCPS had grades that ranged from Pre-K-2nd grade. Beginning with the 2019-2020 school year, third grade became part of our PCPS family. Our school mascot is the Pamlico Pup, but our black and gold colors coincide with our middle school and high school colors.
