Pamlico County Primary School (PCPS) is a Title 1 school that serves approximately 349 students in pre-kindergarten through third grade. Our population is 20 percent African-American, 57 percent white, 10 percent Hispanic, 12 percent two or more races, less than 1 percent Asian, and less than 1 percent American Indian/Pacific Islander. One hundred percent of our students are eligible to receive free breakfast and lunch through the Community Eligibility Provision. All of our classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards, mounted projectors , document cameras, laptops, and iPods for student use. Our instructional technology facilitator and our media coordinator support teachers in using technology to motivate, engage, and empower student learning. One academic specialist further supports our 30 teachers in planning for and providing differentiated learning opportunities that meet the needs of all students. At PCPS, we believe in every child's potential to learn and grow. PCPS students are exposed to art, physical education, media and technology and STEM opportunities each week. Our foremost priority is to instill a love of learning and to support, encourage and ensure our students success.
