Pamlico County Primary School (PCPS) is a Title 1 school that serves approximately 293 students in pre-kindergarten through second grade.  Our population is 22% African American, 58% white, 9% Hispanic, 9% are two or more races, 1% Asian, and 1% American Indian/Pacific Islander. One hundred percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch through the Community Eligibility Provision.   All of our classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards, mounted projectors, documents cameras, laptops, and iPods for student use.  Our instructional technology facilitator and our media coordinator support teachers in using technology to motivate, engage, and empower student learning.  Two academic specialist further support our 25 teachers in planning for and providing differentiated learning opportunities that meet the needs of all students. At PCPS, we believe in every child's potential to learn and grow. PCPS students are exposed to music, art, physical education, media and technology and STEM opportunities each week. Our foremost priority is to instill a love of learning and to support, encourage, and ensure our students' success.
